President Cena has announced the first two superstars to be honored:
THE IRON SHEIK (presented by Dan Mirade)
What is there to say about the Iron Sheik that hasn't already been said? One of professional wrestling's great shooters came to the United States from Iran in the 1970's and went on to become one of the sports most enduring legends, winning both the present day WWE World Heavyweight and Tag Team Championship (with Nikolai Volkoff). The Iron Sheik was part of the late "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble's first live event October 23rd, 1993 in Wakefield, MA and was the first CWA Champion. The Sheik's work and studio shoot DVD's with the Millennium Wrestling Federation brought him a new wave of popularity and a rabid fan base that led him to becoming a YouTube icon and Howard Stern Show regular. The Sheik's partner in insanity, Dan Mirade, will present the Sheik with his award November 15th.
FRANKLIN D. CHURCHILL (presented by Dr. Von Johnson / accepted by Black Machismo)
The late Franklin D. Churchill had an undying passion for this great industry. A commissioner for Tony Rumble's CWA in the 1990's and the first President of the Millennium Wrestling Federation from 2001 to his passing in 2006, Churchill was a pioneer of independent wrestling in New England and beyond. His work ethic and working the phones led to strong ties with "Macho Man" Randy Savage, the voice of the MWF The Jackal, and Richie Myerson. On November 15th, Commissioner Von Johnson will present his Hall of Fame award to another athlete inspired by Churchill's dedication to the sport, MWF Television Champion and TNA superstar "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal.
